About Us
Working in partnership
In 1996, the Department of Health in Western Australia established the Office of Aboriginal Health. Its charter is to work in partnership with Aboriginal communities and health service providers to ensure that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander (ATSI) people receive culturally appropriate health care that meets their needs.
To achieve this objective, the Office of Aboriginal Health works within government to manage the financial, physical and human resources necessary to improve the health care and health status of all Aboriginal people.
Vision
The health status of the Aboriginal peoples of Western Australia is equal to that of the general population.
