Aboriginal Cultural Security

Cultural Security is a commitment to the principle that the construct and provision of services offered by the health system will not compromise the legitimate cultural rights, views, values and expectations of Aboriginal people. It is a recognition, appreciation and response to the impact of cultural diversity on the utilisation and provision of effective clinical care, public health and health systems administration.

Building Solid Families

BSF provides a comprehensive information and support service to coordinate mental health, social and emotional well-being for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander individuals, families and communities.

Cultural Respect Framework for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health 2004 – 2009

The Cultural Respect Framework has been developed as a guiding principle in policy construction and service delivery to strengthen relationships between the health care system and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Western Australian Aboriginal Health Strategy (2000)

The Western Australian Aboriginal Health Strategy (WAAHS) has been developed by the WA Joint Planning Forum on Aboriginal Health as a shared agenda to improve the health of Aboriginal people in Western Australia

Western Australian Aboriginal Primary Care Action (2007)

The WA Aboriginal Primary Care Action Plan gives service providers and communities a statewide vision for Aboriginal primary care.

This statement seeks to ensure that the diverse health needs of Aboriginal people are respected and supported.
